A White Venetian Blind Will Never Go Out of Style
The vast majority of windows in new and old homes in the UK, as well as all types of commercial and industrial buildings, are white. Usually they are painted wood or UPVC, and that does not look like it is going to change any time soon. Therefore whilst this remains so dominant as our standard window colour in the UK we expect that it will also remain the most popular colour that our customers are looking for when purchasing made to measure venetian blinds. As lots of customers don’t want their window covering to make a statement and just want it to be functional and to blend in neutrally with their window surround, white venetian blinds are a perfect choice for them, as they are neutral, safe and go with everything, and what’s more, a white venetian blind is bright at the window and provides good reflective qualities to protect from the glare of the sun. This is probably why many domestic as well as most commercial customers still go for the safest option.
Manufacturers try to offer as extensive a range of white venetian blinds as possible to make sure that every customer can find exactly what they are looking for to complement the colour of their windows. Initially you would think that the number of different ‘whites’ would be very limited but this is not the case. Purists would say that a pure or brilliant white venetian blind should be the only colour advertised as such but as with paint there are lots of off-whites to choose from which touch on the lightest cream and grey colour tones. In addition to having a wide colour choice, shoppers also have the widest choice of slat sizes for to choose from with some finishes being available in up to four slat widths, including wide and extra wide slats.
Many customers are now choosing white wooden venetian blinds as they have never been more affordable, even when made to measure. These customers might have planned to buy white aluminium venetian blinds but have traded up to a more luxurious wood product, as customers who have been planning a more expensive plantation shutter style look for their windows but have then decided to go for a more economic and some would say more flexible and practical option.
If you like the idea of white venetian blinds but think that the blind needs a bit more colour or texture to make it work for you then you have options. In the aluminium range there are some patterns available such as stripes, as well as different finishes for the slats such as polished or high gloss, matt or pearlescent. If you are going for white wooden blinds then consider going for a contrasting coloured ladder tape to add some feature colour.
